On Saturday, October 8, 2016, Central Bank of Kenya Governor, Dr. Patrick Njoroge received the Global Markets “Central Bank Governor of the Year Award for Sub-Saharan Africa” in the margins of the IMF/World Bank meetings in Washington, DC.
Global Markets noted that the Governor had received the award for his efforts to “curb inflation, clean-up of the banking sector,” and his drive to pursue a “new policy of openness and transparency.” The Governor was also praised for his admirable stewardship of the nation’s financial sector and vocal support for innovation in the industry.Read more
