In line with the on-going regulatory reforms aimed at strengthening service standards, consumer protection and enhanced competition in the banking sector, CBK proposes to introduce a Kenya Banking Sector Charter to guide service provision in the sector. The objective of the charter is to promote a responsible and disciplined banking sector that is cognizant of and responsive to the needs of the banking public. Towards this objective, CBK has developed the following Draft Charter and hereby seeks input from the public, in line with the constitutional requirement for public participation in legislative and policy development. The comments should be submitted by Friday, August 24, 2018.
